Leadership Journey
I'm a chief executive, board director, and strategic advisor with a career built around organizational transformation, transactions, and long-lived infrastructure.
As President & CEO of KINBER since 2019, I lead a nonprofit advancing digital infrastructure across Pennsylvania, with a balance sheet of more than $25 million. I came into the role on an interim basis with the organization in difficulty. Since then we've executed a sell-side M&A transaction of network assets to private equity-backed FirstLight during the height of the pandemic, established the KeystoneREN LLC subsidiary, renegotiated major commercial agreements, grown revenue 21%, and rebuilt the organization from the leadership team down.
Following that transaction, the organization's balance sheet became a managed financial portfolio rather than a physical asset base. I oversee its growth alongside outside portfolio managers and the board's investment committee — more than $25M — while reinvesting in staff, systems, and operating capacity.
As a non-voting ex-officio member of the KINBER Board, I work directly with the executive, governance, and finance committees.
Board Service
I serve as Chairman of the Natural Streams Foundation, a Pennsylvania 501(c)(3) that reclaims land and water at former industrial and mining sites and assumes long-term stewardship of environmental liabilities companies carry on their balance sheets. I helped create the entity, structured it, and positioned it for grant funding; the Foundation has since secured more than $20M in Pennsylvania DEP funding for the Marianna Project, a 26.6-acre reclamation effort.
I'm also an independent director at ELA Group, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm, where my work centers on strategic planning, valuation oversight, and ownership succession. ESOP governance is its own discipline: fiduciary duty runs to employee-owners, and the board's obligation is to protect both enterprise value and the trust that comes with ownership.
Previously I served on the boards of The Quilt, Inc. and the Pennsylvania Integrated Library System.
Government Experience & Capital Deployment
Before KINBER I spent more than a decade in Pennsylvania government.
As Deputy Secretary for Conservation and Technical Services at the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, I managed a 76-person staff and an $8M operating budget, oversaw infrastructure for 120 state parks, and deployed $35M in grant capital annually. I secured nearly $10M through legislative negotiation.
Earlier, as Chief of Staff in the Pennsylvania Senate, I managed complex stakeholder interests across 37 municipalities.
That experience means fluency in the regulatory, legislative, and public-capital environment that increasingly determines what infrastructure and industrial businesses can actually do.

What's Next
Most of my attention outside KINBER goes to governance and ownership transition — how boards oversee value, manage risk, and plan for what comes after them. It's the part of the work I find most interesting, and it's where I expect to spend the next chapter of my career.
